For Frankie…

For Frankie…

GraveOlogy

As summer is coming nearer to its end and autumn is beginning to show subtle signs of its return there is one day that is bitter sweet for me.  On August 23, 2003 my best friend Frankie said good-bye to this life and began one of the biggest journeys into what lies beyond our physical life.

Almost every year I have written a poem for her, it is always a day of reflection for me.  A time to remember those who have gone before me and feel their presence in my heart and know one day I will see them again.  But I must say, losing my best friend at the age of 32 was hard and it took me quite a few years to find peace.  There is not a day that goes by that I do not think of her, her photo is framed and sits here on…

School Daze…

Hello Wood Sprites!

Sorry I have been AFK (away from keyboard) this week. It is officially the start of CAVA (California Virtual Academy) so my week has been mostly spent helping my two high school guys get off to a good start for the school year. I will be back soon with pictures of the new autumn primitives and some other cool things… Yay it’s Friday!

Until next time,

Hello Wood Sprites!

So it has been too long since I was last on here, sometime one must sneak off to be crafty. I am back from the land of sawdust where I have been hard at work on several wood crafts.  I have been focused on autumn and Halloween, my most favorite time of the year!  So here is a sneak peek of what I am currently working on:

I would even get a few eye rolls on cross country trips with my husband when I would pop in some 1960’s Folk music. I am so proud after many years of conditioning by me 🙂 He has come across the band Rising Appalachia (and loved it) an their Fusion Folk that does more than please the ear… It makes you think! Thanks for sharing this Robert!
